The latest batch of Y Combinator’s acceleration program had a record number of Brazilian founders, a total of seven.
Among them, founders Maria Fujihara, Alex Dubugras, and Rafael Stark, from Sao Paulo, and Cirdes Henrique, originally from Recife, who just completed the 3-month cycle.

Maria Fujihara is the founder & CEO of SINAI Technologies, an enterprise software that helps companies to price carbon emissions, manage carbon taxes and reduceemissions in the most cost-effective way. She is an architect and urban planner with 13+ yrs of expertise in sustainable certifications. Previously she was a coordinator of the Brazilian Green Building Council for 8+ yrs; Advisor to Project Drawdown by Paul Hawken; and graduate of Singularity University.
Cirdes Henrique is the founder & CTO of Linkana, a compliance-driven procurement software for companies in Latin America.
Cirdes was Founder and CTO of Eventick, self-service ticketing platform, acquired by Sympla in 2017. Alumni from Y Combinator, Plug and Play Tech center, ACE, and Oxigênio Aceleradora.
Alex Dubugras is the Founder of Alude, of free software that automates bureaucracy for real-estate brokers in LatAm, and monetise by selling mortgages and insurance to their customers. Prior to Alude, Alex was the founder of Smartlike and an early employee at payments company EBANX.
Rafael Stark, is the Founder and CEO of Stark Bank. The company provides banking for tech companies by allowing them to do all their bank operations via API. It helps startups scale their operations by solving financial tech issues. Prior to that, Rafael was a founder and CEO of software company Hummingbird Product Studio.
