Marcelo do Rio, has one the most successful and unique Brazilian entrepreneurship careers. Beginning his career in Arts, Marcelo moves in his early 20s to NYC to experience creativity. Back in Rio, he starts his first venture, which collects more than 10 awards as the most innovative social place. In 2000, he opens his second start-up, focused on live music and soon after, he launches the most important micro brewery in the country, acquired by the largest national beverage company in 2007, today owned by the Japanese Kirin Cia. Since then, he serves as mentor and board member of several companies. After 25+ years of experience, Marcelo decides to make the leap once again and moves to the Silicon Valley, guided by his passion about technology. Today Marcelo is a co-founder of ‘Graava’, an Internet-of-Things start-up company.
